Special Needs

We strive to make all of our programs accessible to virtually all children, regardless of special needs. To ensure the best possible experience for your child we ask that you inform our Reservations Department about any special needs that are pertinent to your child e.g. allergies, disabilities, medical conditions, etc. Although we do usually provide, but cannot guarantee, one-on-one supervision to children with special needs we will do our best to provide the best possible care for your child while they experience the fun and adventures of our Day Camp!

What is the Kid’s Camp like?

It operates daily with the exception of Sundays and is similar to a day camp with many planned activities such as arts and crafts, theme days, nature walks and sports activities. The children are grouped according to age, for example 3 & 4 year olds are one group, 5 & 6 another. Our program caters to children ages 3 to 13.

The Toddler programs run from 9:45 am to 12:30 p.m. and then from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. We have within our Toddler area age specific toys and a small-scale climber. There are activities for the “little ones” to do that are geared toward their capabilities and again the toddlers are grouped together according to age.

The regular program runs from 9:45am to 4:30pm. There is a sports program offered for the older children age 7-9. This sports program would have a greater focus on sports activities and less arts and crafts. Lunch is served during the day program with menus geared towards the appetites of children.

For all activities a daily agenda is given to parents so that if they want to meet up with their children they know where their group will be.

Is babysitting available in the evening?

Babysitting is available here at Clevelands House from our staff. Private babysitting can be arranged through the Kids Camp office by 5:00 p.m. the day the babysitting is required. You must pay the babysitter directly, at a rate of $12.00 an hour. Hall babysitting is available each evening free of charge in our North Lodge building. Hall sitting is where staff members are posted in the hallways and watch a block of rooms at once. Parents sign in with the hall sitter and indicate their children’s names and ages and provide a key for the room. Parents must sign their children up at the Front Desk or the Playworld office by 5:00 p.m. daily to ensure a hallsitter scheduled.

Enquire about our Private Babysitting services during the day for children under the age of 3 depending on availability. Sign up in the Playworld office by 5:00 p.m. the day before the babysitting is required.
